Job summary

MVSB seeks a strategic VP Data Officer to lead our data engineering, architecture, and governance efforts from Concord, NH with a hybrid work setup. You will shape a multiyear data strategy powering reporting, BI, automation, analytics, and responsible AI across the organization.

The role requires a strong track record building data platforms, managing data teams, and delivering scalable data solutions in regulated environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in a technical field.
• 7+ years of progressive leadership experience in enterprise data engineering, data architecture, platform management, or data governance.
• Experience leading technical teams and supporting production data environments in a complex organization.
• Experience implementing enterprise data strategies and multiyear technology roadmaps.
• Experience implementing modern cloud data platforms (e.g., Snowflake) with data integrations.
• Strong knowledge of data architecture, dimensional modeling, ETL/ELT, APIs, and cloud platforms.
• Working proficiency in SQL and programming concepts to assess designs and guide decisions.
• Understanding of information security, privacy, regulatory compliance, model risk, and data lifecycle controls.
• Experience in banking, financial services, or regulated industries preferred.

Responsibilities

• Set the enterprise vision, standards, and roadmap for data engineering, architecture, integration, modeling, and governance.
• Lead the design and evolution of secure, scalable cloud data warehouse and lake environments.
• Establish governance for data quality, ownership, stewardship, metadata, lineage, access, privacy, retention, and change management.
• Build an operating model for data, prioritization, solution architecture, engineering delivery, and lifecycle management.
• Deliver trusted data products enabling BI and analytics teams to focus on insights.
• Evaluate generative and agentic AI capabilities and establish guardrails.
• Develop high-performing data teams through coaching and professional development.
• Partner with leadership to prioritize initiatives and communicate progress and risk.
