Job summary

JPMorganChase is seeking a Vice President of Data Governance in the Commercial & Investment Bank Chief Data Office. This role leads governance frameworks to strengthen data management, reduce risk, and improve transparency.

You will establish data ownership, define roles, and build operating models ensuring governance is practical, auditable, and scalable across the organization. You will translate complex data, risk, and technology topics into clear materials for executives, support assurance

Qualifications

• Seven+ years of experience in financial services, fintech, data governance, data risk, controls, or related disciplines
• Deliver cross-functional initiatives with clear ownership and follow-through
• Strong knowledge of data governance concepts: ownership, quality, lineage, metadata, controls, issue management
• Influence senior stakeholders and align matrixed teams without direct authority
• Clear written and verbal communication translating complex data topics for executives
• Analyze data trends to assess risk, identify root causes, and recommend actions
• Experience coaching data literacy and governance practices across teams
• Proficiency with analytics/automation tools like Tableau, PowerPoint, Excel

Responsibilities

• Prepare executive materials for governance forums, senior committees, audits, regulators, and client engagements
• Support implementation of Data Owner and In-Business Chief Data Officer accountabilities
• Develop MI reporting, dashboards, scorecards, and training metrics
• Maintain governance docs, operating models, standards, and controls
• Draft concise decision papers for senior stakeholders and external reviewers
• Partner with business leaders to shape data strategy and drive delivery discipline
• Coordinate assurance activities by identifying risks, remediation plans, and tracking issues
• Promote responsible data use and AI-enabled practices with proper human oversight
• Own project plans, milestones, dependencies, risks, and stakeholder alignment
