Job summary

Workday is seeking a visionary Vice President of Engineering, Data Cloud to lead a world-class team of 230–250 engineers. You will champion the design and execution of core platforms powering the Data Cloud business, driving transformation and scale across the organization.

In this executive role, you will modernize our data stack, promote an outside-in perspective, and scale an open, high-performance data ecosystem that enables AI-powered insights enterprise-wide.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of software engineering experience.
• 5+ years of executive leadership experience managing large, multi-tiered teams.
• Deep understanding of data tech evolution (lakehouses, catalogs, semantic layers).
• Experience with modern data platforms and cloud-native architectures.
• Ability to navigate matrixed organizations and align with product/execs.

Responsibilities

• Lead 230–250 engineers and scale the organization.
• Modernize data infrastructure away from legacy Prism.
• Foster a high-urgency, empathetic engineering culture.
• Drive end-to-end design of core data platforms and products.
• Collaborate with product leadership and external partners to execute the roadmap.
