Job summary

Metric DCX is seeking a Vice President of Preconstruction to lead the data center preconstruction lifecycle, from feasibility through GMP. You will chair cross-functional teams, align scope, schedule, and cost with engineering, EPC partners, and executive leadership.

This high-visibility role demands 15+ years in preconstruction for data centers or large industrial facilities, with proven delivery on projects >$500M and strong executive communication skills.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of experience in preconstruction or related fields.
• Experience on projects exceeding $500M in value.
• Knowledge of design-build and EPC delivery models.
• Experience coordinating with utility-scale power infrastructure.
• Executive-level communication with C-suite and external partners.
• Ability to manage multiple projects across geographies and development stages.

Responsibilities

• Lead preconstruction activities across hyperscale and mid-scale data center developments.
• Build and manage a high-performing preconstruction team.
• Drive alignment between development, engineering, EPC partners, and executive leadership on scope, schedule, and cost.
• Own total project cost models from early concept through GMP.
• Lead the selection and performance management of design consultants, specialty engineers, and contractor partners.
• Present project status, risk, and budget updates to executive leadership and key stakeholders.
