Job summary

LPL Financial is seeking a Vice President II, Cybersecurity Engineering - Security Tools in San Diego to lead enterprise security tooling platforms across on-premises and cloud environments. You will align tooling with business objectives, regulatory requirements, and threat priorities, while driving modernization and cross-functional alignment.

Responsibilities include deploying and optimizing security tools (SIEM, XDR/EDR, gateways), automating threat detection, and reporting to executives.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in cybersecurity operations or tooling management.
• 5+ years leading security engineering or tooling teams.
• 5+ years engineering with SIEM/EDR/XDR and related platforms.
• 5+ years leading cross-functional initiatives with budgeting and planning.
• 5+ years automating security workflows using PowerShell, Python, or Bash.

Responsibilities

• Lead deployment, integration, and lifecycle management of cybersecurity tools (SIEM, XDR/EDR, gateways).
• Develop and execute a tooling strategy aligned with business goals and risk priorities.
• Automate threat detection, compliance reporting, and workflows.
• Report tooling metrics and security posture to executives and stakeholders.
• Mentor security engineers and foster a culture of excellence.
