Job summary

JPMorgan Chase in Jersey City is seeking a Vice President in Cybersecurity Operational Risk Management to provide independent risk oversight within the Second Line of Defense, leveraging deep technical expertise to evaluate cybersecurity risks and risk decisions across the organization.

You will collaborate with cybersecurity, engineering, technology, and business leaders to strengthen risk posture and evolve the risk framework through research and testing.

Qualifications

• 10 years of experience in cybersecurity engineering or related fields.
• Experience operating within a First Line of Defense cybersecurity or technology security function.
• Experience designing, implementing, or overseeing SDLC and Secure by Design programs within complex enterprise environments.
• Strong understanding of cybersecurity risk management principles, controls, and governance practices in regulated financial services.
• Experience evaluating cybersecurity risks and control effectiveness across technology and security environments.
• Demonstrated analytical, problem-solving, and risk assessment capabilities.
• Ability to exercise independent judgment while providing effective risk oversight.
• Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication for governance forums and risk committees.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a Second Line of Defense partner to Cybersecurity leadership, providing research and support to independent risk oversight processes.
• Assess the design, implementation, and effectiveness of SDLC and Secure by Design practices across technology and engineering functions.
• Evaluate cybersecurity risks associated with control managers, engineering, and security control implementation, identifying gaps and remediation strategies.
• Provide oversight and opinion regarding the firm's cryptographic strategy, including key management, authentication, encryption, and post-quantum risks.
• Assess risks associated with deployment and governance of AI technologies, and evaluate related controls and governance frameworks.
• Provide independent opinions regarding risk acceptance decisions while balancing oversight with collaboration.
• Maintain awareness of evolving cyber threat landscape and regulatory expectations.
• Contribute to cybersecurity risk frameworks, standards, policies, and governance practices.
• Support research and testing activities informing risk management practices.
