Job summary

Associated Bank in Houston seeks a Commercial Real Estate Portfolio Manager to evaluate, structure, and manage a diverse CRE loan portfolio, blending financial analysis with client partnership to support sound lending and long-term relationship success.

You will influence deal strategy, collaborate with senior leaders, mentor junior staff, and represent the bank at community events while upholding integrity and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 4+ years of experience in Commercial Real Estate or Credit Approval.
• 4+ years of experience handling complex credit relationships.
• Access to reliable transportation and ability to drive to start date.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite and analyze new loan originations, renewals, modifications, and annual reviews.
• Monitor loan performance and borrower financials to assess portfolio health.
• Structure deals with Relationship Managers and Credit teams.
• Conduct due diligence and ensure compliance with credit policies and regulations.
• Present credit recommendations in loan approval discussions.
• Contribute to portfolio strategies to improve profitability and mitigate risk.
• Mentor junior portfolio managers.
• Represent Associated Bank at community events to build relationships.
