Job Description: Vice President, Corporate Controller
Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Controller to join our landscaping business. As the Corporate Controller, you will oversee the company's financial operations and ensure the accuracy and integrity of our financial records and controls. Your expertise in financial management, reporting, internal control, process improvement, and financial analysis will contribute to the overall financial health and success of our landscaping business.
Responsibilities:
- Accounting Activities Management:
- Manage all aspects of the company's accounting functions including month-end and annual financial close, balance sheet account reconciliations, treasury management, payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, collections, general ledger management, and tax reporting.
- Coordinate with outside tax resources for income return preparation.
Financial Management and Reporting:- Develop and implement financial and accounting strategies, policies, and procedures.
- Conduct regular financial reviews and provide timely reports to management.
- Ensure compliance with accounting principles, regulatory requirements, and company policies.
- Prepare financial statements in accordance with GAAP and generate reports such as profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
Internal Controls and Compliance:- Establish and maintain internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure compliance.
- Conduct audits and reviews, and collaborate with external auditors.
- Stay updated on accounting standards and regulations.
Acquisitions:- Complete due diligence, integration planning, and execution.
- Perform working capital evaluations and reconciliations.
Process Improvement:- Monitor and improve the efficiency of the accounting function.
- Collaborate on business support opportunities.
Team Management and Development:- Manage and mentor the finance team, set goals, conduct evaluations, and foster a collaborative environment.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- CPA designation is strongly preferred.
- 7-10 years of proven experience as a Controller or similar role, including managing audits.
- Deep knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and compliance.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
- Excellent communication and team management abilities.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and timeliness.
- Ability to work collaboratively and adapt to changing environments.
