Community Health System in Fresno, California, is seeking its inaugural Vice President, Controller to provide strategic leadership of enterprise-wide financial operations and ensure integrity of accounting and reporting.

The role oversees ~40 FTEs across accounting, AP, government reimbursement, payroll and treasury, ensures GAAP compliance, drives process improvements, and mentors leaders to enable long-term growth.

Qualifications

• Senior financial leadership experience in a hospital or health system.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting.
• CPA preferred but not required.
• Strong collaboration and people management skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee accounting, accounts payable, government reimbursement, payroll, and treasury.
• Ensure GAAP compliance and robust financial reporting.
• Identify process improvements and build cross-organizational relationships.
• Mentor department leaders and develop the finance team.
