Job summary

ICON Build is seeking a Vice President of Construction to lead nationwide private sector and MILCON construction portfolios. The role oversees budget, schedule, safety, quality, and field execution, reporting to ICON Build leadership from the Austin, TX campus.

The successful candidate will drive staffing, development, and self-perform initiatives, scale operations across markets, and integrate advanced construction technologies within a growing design-build organization.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of progressive construction experience with leadership across regions or markets.
• 8+ years in senior construction operations leadership with multiple projects.
• Proven track record of owning budget and schedule performance across a portfolio.
• Experience building construction teams and trade partner networks in new markets.
• Strong financial fluency: cost reports, overheads, and make-vs-buy analysis.

Responsibilities

• Own construction budget and schedule performance across all active ICON Build projects and drive corrective action.
• Set strategic direction for ICON Build construction operations and regional expansion priorities.
• Lead Directors of Construction and Print Operations; ensure portfolio-level reporting on cost, schedule, quality, safety, and productivity.
• Maintain MILCON compliance with FAR/DFARS/UFC/UFGS/EM 385-1-1 and USACE/NAVFAC standards in partnership with MILCON leadership.
• Oversee preconstruction, trade partner management, quality and safety programs, and standardized processes across regions.
