Job summary

Oaktree Capital Management, L.P. is seeking a VP of Communications to lead the firm’s internal communications strategy and investor reporting function, aligning messaging with business goals and stakeholder expectations.

You will advise senior leadership on executive messaging, thought leadership, and sensitive situations, while collaborating with HR, technology, risk, and other departments to ensure timely, accurate communications and scalable processes.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of relevant experience in client, public or investor relations.
• Experience in asset management and marketing (preferred).
• Communications experience involving writing for both external and internal audiences.
• Extensive project management experience.
• Facility with Microsoft Office and basic familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee the firm’s internal communications strategy, ensuring alignment with business objectives and stakeholder expectations.
• Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leadership on internal communications, including executive messaging, thought leadership, and sensitive/high-stakes situations.
• Manage internal communications content with executive leadership, HR, corporate services, and other departments.
• Draft scripts, digital communications, and presentations to keep employees updated on results, goals, progress, and initiatives.
• Organize internal events (Town Halls/seminars) in partnership with other groups.
• Develop talking points for internal use regarding corporate milestones and announcements.
• Review and approve content with cross-functional teams to ensure clarity and adherence to style guidelines.
