Job summary

The Cooperative Credit Union Association seeks a Vice President of Commercial Lending to lead the credit union's commercial lending function, oversee business development, member relationships, loan growth, deal structuring, and department performance.

Reporting to the Chief Lending Officer, the VP collaborates with the Commercial Credit Portfolio Manager, Commercial Lending Generalist, Risk Management, and Octant to drive responsible growth, maintain credit quality, and ensure regulatory

Qualifications

• 5–8 years of progressively responsible commercial lending or related lending experience, including leadership.
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, or related field preferred.
• Strong knowledge of commercial lending, loan structuring, and credit risk.
• Proven business development and relationship management abilities.
• Strong leadership, communication, negotiation, and organizational skills.
• Ability to collaborate with credit, risk, operations, and senior management.

Responsibilities

• Lead commercial lending efforts including business development, loan production, and relationship management.
• Drive new loan and deposit relationships and expand existing ones.
• Manage commercial relationships and identify lending opportunities.
• Lead loan structuring and pipeline management with portfolio manager and Octant.
• Supervise the Commercial Lending Generalist and coordinate with the portfolio manager.
• Oversee Octant relationship, service levels, and underwriting.
• Monitor portfolio performance and address delinquencies and risk.
• Contribute to credit decisions and strategies for high-risk relationships.
• Support strategy, pricing, and policies with leadership.
