Job summary

Synchrony is seeking a VP, Cloud Data Solution Architect to lead the strategic design of its enterprise data ecosystem in the cloud, enabling high-performing, secure, scalable data platforms for operational and analytic needs.

You will define target-state cloud data architecture, enable reusable migration frameworks, and partner with senior stakeholders to modernize legacy data ecosystems while driving AI-enabled data capabilities across the organization.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in CS/IT/Engineering/Data Management or related field is required.
8+ years of information technology, data architecture, or related experience.
Experience with cloud-native data platforms and data lakehouse architectures.

Responsibilities

Provide architecture thought leadership across cloud data platforms, data lakehouse and data mesh patterns.
Shape and maintain target-state architecture and modernization roadmaps.
Support architectural evaluations and trade-off decisions across cloud-native services and data models.
Partner with senior stakeholders to assess and modernize current-state environments.
Establish and promote architecture principles, reference architectures, and reusable migration frameworks.
Influence cross-functional teams by translating architecture decisions into business value.
Provide guidance to architects on cloud-native data design and modernization trends.
