Job summary

Synchrony seeks a VP of Cloud Data Solution Architecture to lead the strategic design of its enterprise data ecosystem in the cloud, supporting operational and analytic objectives. You will define target-state cloud data architecture, consumption patterns, controls, and migration frameworks, partnering with senior stakeholders to modernize legacy data environments.

This role enables secure, scalable data platforms, driving AI and advanced analytics while aligning with business goals and ensuring

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and 8+ years in IT or data architecture
• 5+ years modernizing or migrating data platforms in cloud environments
• Experience with cloud-native data platforms, data lakes/lakehouse, IAM and data integration
• Experience defining target-state architecture and modernization roadmaps
• Agile experience using JIRA or similar tools
• Ability to work with globally located teams across shifts

Responsibilities

• Provide architecture leadership across cloud data platforms and AI/analytic ecosystems
• Shape target-state architecture and modernization roadmaps aligned to business priorities
• Evaluate trade-offs in cloud-native services, storage, access, security, and cost
• Partner with stakeholders to assess current environments and improve data product usability
• Promote architecture principles, patterns, and reusable migration frameworks
• Mentor architects and teams on cloud-native data design and modern practices
• Perform other duties as assigned
