Taproot Executive Search is seeking a Vice President to join a leading alternative investment manager’s Middle Market CLO team. The role offers direct exposure to portfolio managers, operations professionals, trustees, and other counterparties, with responsibility for independent analyses that inform portfolio decisions.

Formación

• 6–10 years of experience in CLO portfolio analytics, portfolio compliance, or related investment operations.
• Strong understanding of CLO structures, compliance tests, and cash flow waterfalls.
• Middle Market CLO or direct lending experience preferred.
• Experience analyzing hypothetical trades and their effects on portfolio constraints and returns.
• Ability to independently manage analyses and present actionable recommendations to portfolio managers.
• Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with CLO analytics platforms.

• Run, monitor, and validate daily portfolio compliance testing and reconcile results with monthly trustee testing.
• Analyze hypothetical trades and their impact on compliance test levels, portfolio returns, and investment capacity.
• Perform portfolio optimization analysis using internal tools and third-party systems.
• Identify and propose portfolio optimization strategies in partnership with portfolio managers.
• Partner with Middle Market CLO portfolio management and operations teams on daily activities and independent projects.
• Support trade allocations and evaluate their impact across portfolios.
• Prepare and review quarterly CLO waterfall calculations.
• Coordinate with trustees and other counterparties to investigate and resolve data or reporting discrepancies.
• Respond to ad hoc requests for information and analysis on existing holdings.
• Help improve analytical tools, reporting, and portfolio monitoring processes.

About the Opportunity

This individual will work closely with portfolio managers, operations professionals, trustees, and other counterparties to support portfolio compliance, hypothetical trade analysis, portfolio optimization, and quarterly waterfall calculations.

Qualifications

• 6–10 years of relevant experience in CLO portfolio analytics, portfolio compliance, structured credit, or closely related investment operations.
• Strong understanding of CLO structures, compliance tests, and cash flow waterfalls.
• Middle Market CLO or direct lending experience preferred.
• Experience analyzing hypothetical trades and their effects on portfolio constraints and returns.
• Ability to independently manage analyses and projects and present actionable recommendations to portfolio managers.
• Advanced Excel skills; familiarity with CLO analytics platforms and portfolio systems preferred.
• Strong attention to detail, communication skills, and ability to manage competing priorities.
• Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, mathematics, or a related field.
