Job summary

Riva Recruiting partners with a top-tier alternative investment manager to fill a VP-level CLO role in New York. You will sit beside PMs, owning testing and analytics behind every trade decision and shaping portfolio positioning.

You’ll own daily portfolio compliance testing, run hypothetical trade analyses, and partner with operations to keep data clean. The role offers direct senior exposure and opportunities across CLO strategies.

Qualifications

• CLO experience across middle market/BSL preferred; strong in structured credit or leveraged loans.
• Hands-on compliance testing and waterfall experience.
• Experience with industry-standard CLO compliance and portfolio systems.
• Strong Excel modeling; programming (Python, VBA, SQL) is a bonus.
• Owns numbers, detail-oriented, seeks exposure to the investment side.

Responsibilities

• Own daily portfolio compliance testing and monthly trustee test reconciliation.
• Run hypothetical trade analysis for PMs before trades: coverage tests, collateral quality tests, concentration limits.
• Spot optimization opportunities and bring ideas to the investment team.

About the opportunity

Riva Recruiting is partnering with a top-tier alternative investment manager on a VP-level seat on its CLO team. The platform spans middle market and broadly syndicated CLOs and continues to grow.

This isn’t a back-office compliance seat. You’ll sit right next to the portfolio managers, owning the testing and analytics behind every trade decision, and you’ll have a real voice in how the portfolios are positioned.

What you’ll do

• Own daily portfolio compliance testing and monthly trustee test reconciliation
• Run hypothetical trade analysis for PMs before trades go through: coverage tests, collateral quality tests, and concentration limits
• Spot optimization opportunities and bring ideas to the investment team
• Run quarterly payment date waterfalls
• Act as the go-to resource for PMs and senior leadership on portfolio data and holdings questions
• Partner with operations, trustees, and custodians to keep the data clean and the testing right

What you bring

• Deep CLO experience on the manager, trustee, or administrator side, ideally across middle market and BSL; a strong background in structured credit, leveraged loans, or high yield also works
• Hands-on compliance testing and waterfall experience
• Experience with industry-standard CLO compliance and portfolio systems
• Strong Excel and modeling skills; programming (Python, VBA, SQL) is a bonus
• Someone who owns their numbers, enjoys the detail, and wants more exposure to the investment side
