Job summary

OpenLoop Health, Inc. is seeking a Vice President, Clinical to lead a growing team of NPs, MDs and DOs in a remote, nationwide telemedicine operation.

You will set clinical protocols, drive quality, and partner with leadership to scale care delivery while maintaining high standards. The role requires board-certified MD/DO in Internal/Family/Emergency Medicine, multi-state licensure, and proven telehealth leadership.

Qualifications

• Licensed and board certified Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, or Emergency Medicine MD/DO.
• Active unrestricted medical license in 5–10 US states.
• At least 3 years of management of medical providers in a US health system within the past 5 years.
• Experience leading clinical teams, preferably with educational/strategic planning experience.
• Experience in virtual care and virtual clinical operations.
• Experience in medical weight loss and related therapies.
• Ability to communicate expectations and lead cross-functional teams.
• Telehealth leadership and coaching experience.

About The Role

OpenLoop's mission is to bring care anywhere by powering telehealth solutions at scale. Our provider group is where that care actually gets delivered - a multidisciplinary team of clinicians serving patients in all 50 states on behalf of the companies we power. The Vice President, Clinical owns the clinical quality of that group: the protocols clinicians work from, how they're onboarded and developed, and how performance is measured. As the group grows across disciplines and service lines, this role is what keeps the standard of care consistent for every patient.

OpenLoop is looking for a Vice President, Clinical to join our team remotely. This role will be a member of the clinical leadership team and report to the head of the PC group.

You would qualify and should apply if you meet these key areas:

• You are an M.D. or D.O. and meet the required board certifications & licensing as outlined below

• You have years of telehealth experience

• You have leadership experience in telehealth, specifically managing / coaching other clinicians, within telehealth operations, and are familiar with telehealth best practices

• You have weight-loss medicine experience

What You'll Do:

• Manage and lead a team of growing healthcare providers including NPs, MDs, and DOs

• Supervise and manage clinicians to ensure patient services are delivered effectively within the scope of the plan

• Spearhead the provider group's clinical productivity alongside other members of the clinical leadership and clinical operations team

• Establish recurring 1:1s with healthcare providers as needed

• Develop and manage clinical protocols

• Work with quality and enablement teams to ensure the clinical standard of care of health professionals

• Provide medical personnel with leadership, decision-making and direction in patient care services and defined areas, ensuring team feels empowered to serve as patient representatives/advocates and creates a medical environment in which collaboration is valued and excellence is prioritized in clinical care

• Identify areas of process improvements and inefficiencies

• Work closely with all levels of stakeholders to execute processes and procedures

• Execute project management skills through leading internal meetings in efforts of problem identification and resolution

• Lead in optimizing the quality and efficiency of day-to-day operations of the group, including but not limited to creation of policies and procedures and instituting/maintaining internal and external quality improvement measures for telemedicine

• Responsible for continued assessment of performance improvement to promote practice growth and development

• Provides clinical leadership by directing, coordinating and delegating patient care in an organized manner, allowing for flexibility

• Ability to effectively communicate expectations, motivate individuals, foster collaboration between departments and demonstrate a proven ability to provide positive and motivating leadership that supports teamwork

• When needed, provide safe, effective, and compassionate care via telemedicine to patients across the country (based on licensure) for a wide variety of conditions

• Other duties as assigned

Who You Are:

• Licensed and board certified Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, or Emergency Medicine M.D. or D.O. required

• Obesity Medicine board certification preferred but not required

• Active unrestricted medical license in 5-10 states within the United States required

• At a minimum, 3 years of management of medical providers in a US health system within the past 5 years or recent relevant experience required

• Prior experience leading clinical teams, preferably with educational experience and/or strategic planning experience

• Prior experience in virtual care required

• Prior experience in clinical protocol development and management for the purpose of guiding virtual care required

• Prior experience in medical weight loss required, and prior experience preferred in testosterone replacement therapy, hormone replacement therapy, functional/longevity/peptide medicine, remote patient monitoring, and chronic care management

• Prior experience in virtual clinical operations required

• Proficient with Google Suite, virtual communication platforms, and AI required

• Able to quickly adapt to new technologies, such as software and operating systems

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Ability to work cross-functionally across multiple teams and stakeholders

• Team player

• Able to quickly pivot as needed in a rapidly growing startup environment

• Passionate about motivating and growing a successful team
