Job summary

Friends of the Earth seeks a strategic, senior leader to guide the Climate & Biodiversity portfolio, shaping program strategy, fundraising, and campaign impact. The Vice President will partner with senior staff to align priorities, drive policy influence, and ensure effective resource use across portfolios.

The role emphasizes equity-centered approaches, global collaboration, and accountability, with travel as needed and authorization to work in the United States. Remote work is possible.

Qualifications

• Progressively responsible experience in program leadership, advocacy, campaigning, public policy, nonprofit leadership, or related fields.
• Senior leadership experience managing leaders, complex programs, budgets, and organizational priorities.
• Demonstrated experience developing and leading high‑impact programmatic, advocacy, or campaign strategies that drive measurable outcomes.
• Experience securing and stewarding significant philanthropic funding, including cultivating donor relationships and contributing to fundraising strategy.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to represent the organization externally.

Responsibilities

• Lead organizational strategy and direction for the Climate & Biodiversity portfolio.
• Oversee program strategy, fundraising, resource allocation, and campaign execution.
• Secure funding and build long-term philanthropic relationships to support priorities.
