Berkley Fire & Marine Underwriters (BFM), part of W. R. Berkley Corporation, seeks a visionary Chief Underwriting Officer to lead underwriting strategy for Inland Marine and related products.

You will align with the senior leadership team, oversee profitability, and ensure underwriting excellence across regions. The role offers hybrid work with four days in the office and one day remote where feasible, with remote options for non-commutable candidates.

Qualifications

• 10+ years' experience in products, Property and Inland Marine underwriting.
• Demonstrated strategic and tactical leadership through influence.
• Strong organizational, communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee development and management of underwriting strategy aligned with the BFM plan.
• Develop Inland Marine products to meet underwriting strategy and risk attributes.
• Lead market research and identify innovative products for evaluation and development.
• Work with Actuarial to develop pricing and underwriting strategies for profitable growth.
• Collaborate with regional teams to deliver underwriting and risk management solutions.
• Manage relationships within the organization to strengthen business partnerships.
