Job summary

Morgan Stanley is seeking a Business Manager - Vice President in Purchase, NY to oversee contingency workforce lifecycle, vendor relations, and financial oversight within the COO Business Management team. This role requires strong project management, accounting knowledge, and cross-functional collaboration across platforms.

The ideal candidate will manage onboarding, timesheets, and invoicing for contingent staff; drive forecasting, budgeting, and P&L reviews; and prepare leadership materials

Qualifications

  • Business Analyst or Project Management experience in financial services.
  • Basic understanding of accounting concepts (P&L, margin, forecasting, etc.)
  • Strong program management and ability to work across complex, matrixed organizations
  • Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail
  • Ability to interact effectively and collaborate with stakeholders across platforms - strong EQ is a must
  • Independent self-starter who can manage day-to-day deliverables and prioritization with limited oversight
  • Proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Outlook, Teams and PowerPoint

Responsibilities

  • Manage the contingent workforce lifecycle in Fieldglass: Contingent management (onboarding/changes/offboarding), including timesheet, billing, and compliance support.
  • Own vendor relationships: cadence meetings, issue resolution, and support for extensions/conversions as needed.
  • Support sourcing and contracting workflows for professional services: Intake forms, contract bidding, vendor onboarding.
  • Maintain forecasts and provide financial oversight: P&L/ledger variance review (includes: accruals/T&E tracking, budget/Fieldglass reconciliation).
  • Prepare materials and recommendations for leadership expense reviews and new business proposals.
  • Process and approve invoices/requests using internal tools, providing policy guidance and escalation support where needed.
  • Provide prioritized support for time-sensitive initiatives and other ad hoc reporting/assessments.
