Job summary

Radiant, an El Segundo, CA-based startup, is hiring a VP of Business Development to build and lead a national sales pipeline for portable nuclear microreactors. You will identify potential customers, drive early conversations, and collaborate with leadership to formalize deals.

The role emphasizes independent originations, long-horizon deals with major clients, travel, and hands-on development of a growing commercial platform. This is an onsite leadership position at Radiant's El Segundo HQ.

Qualifications

• Sourcing national opportunities independently, not just inbound leads.
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
• 7–10+ years in business development, sales, or related commercial role.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.
• US citizenship or green card holder.
• Ability to travel and attend in-person meetings.

Responsibilities

• Independently source and qualify leads across commercial verticals, nationwide.
• Originate and lead client conversations from first contact through discovery, proposal, and term sheet.
• Support negotiation of commercial documents toward binding agreements with executive leadership.
• Build and maintain a pipeline independently, prioritizing quality over volume.
• Develop tailored proposals and external communications.
• Learn fundamentals of the product, siting, licensing, and energy to credibly discuss deals.
• Act as an ambassador for Radiant's mission, values, and brand in every interaction.
