Job summary

iCapital is seeking a Backend Software Engineer at Vice President level to design, build, and operate services powering the platform. You will collaborate with engineers, product managers, and technical partners throughout the development lifecycle.

The stack includes Scala, Ruby, and Python, though prior experience with these languages is not required. You will own projects from design through production rollout, write maintainable code, participate in reviews, and build testing, observability,

Qualifications

• 8+ years experience with a modern programming language such as Ruby, Scala, Python, Java, or TypeScript.
• 5+ years experience building or integrating with APIs and backend services.
• Knowledge of relational or NoSQL databases and data modeling.
• Familiarity with automated testing, version control, and modern software delivery practices.
• Understanding of cloud application development and distributed systems.
• Strong problem-solving, collaboration, and communication skills.
• Experience using AI-assisted development tools to plan work, refine specifications, delegate tasks, and validate implementation quality.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, test, deploy, and maintain cloud-based services and APIs.
• Translate product and business needs into practical technical solutions.
• Own projects from design through production rollout and ongoing support.
