Job summary

iCapital is seeking a Backend Software Engineer at Vice President level to design, build, and operate services powering the iCapital platform. You will collaborate with engineers, product managers, and technical partners throughout the development lifecycle on cloud-based services and APIs, primarily using Scala, Ruby, and Python.

The role emphasizes owning projects from design through production, writing maintainable code, and participating in code reviews.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience with a modern programming language (Ruby/Scala/Python/Java/TypeScript).
• 5+ years building or integrating APIs and backend services.
• Knowledge of relational or NoSQL databases and data modeling.
• Familiarity with automated testing, version control, and modern software delivery practices.
• Understanding of cloud application development and distributed systems.
• Strong problem-solving, collaboration, and communication skills.
• Experience using AI-assisted development tools to plan work and validate implementation quality.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, test, deploy, and maintain cloud-based services and APIs.
• Translate product and business needs into practical technical solutions.
• Own projects from design through production rollout and ongoing support.
