Job summary

iCapital seeks a Backend Software Engineer at the Associate or AVP level to design, build, and operate services powering the iCapital platform. The role collaborates with engineers, product managers, and partners to deliver scalable backend solutions.

Working primarily with Scala, Ruby, and Python, candidates should show strong fundamentals and the ability to learn new technologies while contributing to API and service design across the stack.

Qualifications

• 3-5+ years experience with a modern programming language such as Ruby, Scala, Python, Java, or TypeScript.
• Experience building or integrating with APIs and backend services.
• Knowledge of relational or NoSQL databases and data modeling.
• Familiarity with automated testing, version control, and modern software delivery practices.
• Understanding of cloud application development and distributed systems.
• Strong problem-solving, collaboration, and communication skills.
• Experience using AI-assisted development tools to plan work, refine specifications, delegate tasks, and validate implementation quality.
