Job summary

JPMorgan Chase is seeking an Applied Machine Learning Scientist focused on NLP, GenAI and large-scale ML systems. You will lead production-grade models across NLP, information retrieval and RAG workflows, with hands-on experience in fine-tuning, PEFT techniques, and tool-call architectures.

You will collaborate with product, engineering, and control partners to deliver reliable, privacy-conscious AI solutions.

Qualifications

• MS with 7+ years or PhD with 4+ years of hands-on industry experience in building ML systems in production.

Responsibilities

• Lead and deploy state-of-the-art ML systems across NLP, speech, recommendations and IR.
• Design agentic AI systems for multi-step workflows.
• Fine-tune LLMs/SLMs using PEFT, distillation, and quantization.
• Collaborate with product, engineering and governance teams to productionize models.
• Ensure responsible AI usage and robust evaluation in production.
