Job summary

The Hartford seeks a Vice President, Applied AI – Employee Benefits & Operations to shape the next generation of AI-driven transformation across enrollment, billing, and customer service. You will own Applied AI strategy, governance, and execution, driving measurable improvements in growth, accuracy, and experience.

You will lead a broad portfolio of ML and generative AI solutions, partner with Benefit and Operations leaders, and build organizational capability to scale AI across the enterprise

Qualifications

• 20+ years of applied AI, data science or related quantitative fields.
• 10+ years leading large, complex organizations and senior leaders.
• VP-level experience influencing enterprise direction and outcomes.
• Experience in Employee Benefits, healthcare or complex insurance ops preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree required; Masters/PhD preferred and may offset experience.

Responsibilities

• Own Applied AI strategy and outcomes across Employee Benefits and Operations.
• Define domain-level AI strategy and influence enterprise AI direction.
• Lead executive decisions balancing quality, risk, cost and value.
• Transform processes via AI including enrollment, billing, and service.
• Ensure governance, risk management and responsible AI across portfolios.
