Job summary

Harris School Solutions in the United States seeks a strategic Vice President of Research & Development to own AI-driven product strategy across FINS offerings. You will lead a 40+ person team, align research with business goals, and scale AI across cloud and web platforms. Strong MS stack expertise and public-sector AI governance are essential.

The role reports to the Executive Vice President and offers leadership across onsite and remote teams, with a focus on responsible AI and rapid delivery.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of management experience leading software development teams.
• P&L experience.
• Portfolio management of multiple products and tech stacks.
• Hands-on familiarity with AI-assisted development tools and demonstrated experience delivering AI or machine-learning capabilities into production software.

Responsibilities

• Translate business goals and product requirements into actionable development plans with a prioritized AI roadmap.
• Ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget using AI-assisted development, testing, and documentation.
• Provide strategic direction and control of product development activities, contributing technical input into the unit strategy including AI differentiation and risk.
• Drive adoption of AI developer tooling across the team and measure productivity and quality results.
• Lead AI-enabled product capabilities for K12 finance, HR, and administrative workflows such as intelligent automation and natural-language reporting.
• Establish responsible AI practices for data privacy, governance, and transparency with customers.
