Job summary

Substack is seeking an elite financial strategist to own the company’s long-term financial engine, lead budgeting and rolling forecasts, and hire and lead a world-class FP&A team. This is a premier leadership role at a fast-growing creator platform.

You’ll build an AI-native FP&A function, automate data workflows, model multi-year scenarios, and partner with the CEO, CFO, and executive team to steer capital allocation, pricing and product investments for durable growth.

Qualifications

• Elite quantitative foundation with 5–10 years in finance/FP&A or strategic finance at fast-growing tech firms.
• Proven leadership potential: recruit, mentor, and manage high-performing teams.
• AI-native mindset: leverage automation and AI tools to reduce manual work and scale insights.

Responsibilities

• Hire, develop, and lead a high-performing FP&A team; set operating standards and career paths.
• Architect AI-powered FP&A with automation and data workflows for modeling and planning.
• Lead annual budgeting, rolling forecasts, and driver-based budgeting with cross-functional leaders.
