Job summary

Substack is seeking a high-leverage BizOps leader to partner with the CEO and CFO, owning strategic and operational execution across product, growth, pricing, and creator economics. You will build data pipelines, run complex analyses, and personally drive high-stakes initiatives across the company.

This role requires elite training (top-tier firms or banks) plus hands-on analytics (SQL, Excel, Python/R) and a bias for action with end-to-end ownership.

Qualifications

• 5–10 years of total work experience with background at a top-tier firm or investment bank, plus BizOps/Strategy at a fast-growing tech company.
• Highly comfortable with quantitative modeling and data manipulation (SQL, Excel; Python/R a plus).
• First-principles problem solving with clear hypotheses and actionable frameworks.
• Bias for action and end-to-end ownership to drive real change.
• Executive-level communication to influence senior stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Strategic & Operational Execution: drive high-impact initiatives across product, growth, pricing, and creator economics.
• Data-Driven Insights: perform deep-dive analyses on core metrics to guide product decisions.
• External & Market Intelligence: conduct competitive analysis and market mapping.
• Executive Decision Support: translate data into actionable executive decisions and board strategy.
• Management Infrastructure: design KPI tracking and cross-functional alignment.
• Team Building & Leadership: lead a lean ops team while performing frontline analytics.
