Job summary

JPMorgan Chase & Co. is seeking a Vice President, Data Scientist Lead to drive data-driven initiatives that enhance planning, efficiency, service, and controls within Commercial Banking.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree in Data Science, Computer Science, ML, Statistics, or related field or equivalent experience
• 5+ years of applied ML/NLP experience including production deployment
• Experience with NLP, LLMs, prompt engineering, and retrieval-augmented generation
• Hands-on experience with Bedrock or equivalent LLM platform for building AI solutions
• Experience with Cortex in an enterprise setting
• Strong Python skills and ML/DL frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow) and tooling
• Experience building APIs and integrating LLM/NLP solutions into apps
• Experience with data pipelines, embeddings, vector search, indexing, retrieval
• Strong software engineering practices: Git, CI/CD, testing
• Strong communication and stakeholder management; knowledge of financial services domain

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver generative AI and LLM solutions for content extraction, semantic search, QA, summarization, reasoning, and recommendations
• Design, deploy, and manage prompt-based and retrieval-augmented generation systems with orchestration patterns
• Build evaluation frameworks to measure accuracy, faithfulness, robustness, latency, and cost with safety checks
• Leverage Bedrock to prototype and productionize LLM applications including model selection and deployment
• Work with Cortex Analyst to enable governed analytics experiences
• Apply hands-on experience with Bedrock, SageMaker, or Databricks in production workloads
• Collaborate with engineering to deliver scalable services and APIs with strong software discipline
• Build data pipelines for structured/unstructured data for retrieval and preprocessing for LLMs
• Conduct applied research and translate findings into practical improvements
• Communicate business needs into measurable problem statements and success metrics
• Mentor junior data scientists and promote responsible AI practices
