Job summary

JPMorgan Chase & Co. seeks an Affordable Housing Credit Officer within the Community Development Real Estate team.

You will lead the full credit lifecycle for affordable housing loans, structure transactions, drive closings, and manage a portfolio through construction to repayment. You will collaborate with developers, syndicators, public agencies, and cross‑functional teams to deliver timely, high-quality outcomes and influence credit decisions aligned with risk appetite and community impact

Qualifications

4+ years of experience in community development real estate lending or investing focusing on affordable housing.
Underwriting expertise in LIHTC, subsidy layers, and construction/permanent financing structures.
Led diverse teams and influenced outcomes across cross-functional groups.
Strong analytical and financial modeling skills with clear credit recommendations.
Ability to manage multiple transactions and meet deadlines.
Excellent stakeholder management and client service mindset.
Exceptional written and verbal communications for executive audiences.
Detail-oriented with thorough documentation and controls.

Responsibilities

Lead end-to-end risk analysis of affordable housing transactions, including budgets, sources and uses, and project economics.
Prepare, present, and defend credit packages to senior management and credit committees.
Evaluate third‑party due diligence and incorporate findings into credit decisions.
Coordinate closings, drive timelines, and align stakeholders for on-time funding.
Monitor credit risk during construction and lease-up; implement action plans as needed.
Manage an active loan portfolio with covenant tracking and annual reviews.
Establish risk analysis standards and champion continuous improvement across the team.
Collaborate with internal and external partners and participate in industry events.
Present analyses and recommendations to leadership with data-driven guidance.
