Position Overview

This role manages and directs the development and execution of the end-to-end reporting process for Universal Life Valuation while developing a vision to make the reporting process efficient and scalable to meet the needs of the corporate stakeholders and business users. The incumbent should be identified as an industry expert in general modeling and valuation best practices as well as in open-ended actuarial software, specifically FIS Prophet, with the ability to consult, train and mentor other valuation staff in all aspects of UL Valuation.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, manage and direct the end-to-end reporting process for UL Valuation and financial reporting and analysis.
  • Perform actual to plan analysis and sensitivity testing.
  • Onboard new deals.
  • Contribute to the execution of reporting processes globally including but not limited to: PBI, PLAN, CFT, end-user reporting and management reporting.
  • Provide direction to teams consisting of actuarial, IT, and business analyst resources.
  • Follow RGA valuation standards.
  • Lead and mentor a team and create a positive and productive working environment with a culture of accountability and performance excellence.
  • Maintain regular and predictable attendance and perform other duties as required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Math, Finance, Actuarial Sciences, Computer Science, Statistics or related field
  • FSA accreditation or equivalent
  • 10+ years of actuarial experience in life insurance/reinsurance
  • 5+ years of experience with data-driven solutions in insurance
  • Broad and comprehensive understanding of universal life (UL) insurance products, including universal life with secondary guarantee (ULSG), indexed UL (IUL), and Variable UL (VUL) on US GAAP, Statutory, and Tax basis.
  • Broad and comprehensive understanding of SOP-03-01, ULCRVM, PBR, and cash flow testing.
  • Advanced understanding of reinsurance concepts and methods
  • Ability to negotiate with and communicate across departments including IT, corporate modeling, finance, risk, and others.
  • Results-oriented with the ability to emphasize practical application and tangible value creation over theory or process.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and allocate time appropriately among them including the ability to delegate key areas of responsibility.
  • Articulate, with advanced oral and written communication skills.
  • Advanced actuarial modeling skills in open platforms such as Prophet or AXIS
  • Familiarity with traditional life, LTC, deferred annuities, including fixed, equity-indexed and/or variable annuities, pensions and other longevity products.
  • Familiarity with fixed income investments, understanding of asset modeling techniques and capital markets.
  • Highly advanced oral and written communication skills including presentation skills, demonstrating the ability to convey information in a way that is meaningful and well received by stakeholders and team members.

  • MAAA accreditation
  • Prior management experience
  • Expert knowledge of local regulatory environments
  • Reinsurance industry and/or merger and acquisition experience

Compensation Range:

$161,650.00 - $246,550.00 Annual

Base pay varies depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience and market location. In addition, RGA provides an annual bonus plan that includes all roles and some positions are eligible for participation in our long-term equity incentive plan. RGA also maintains a full range of health, retirement, and other employee benefits.
