Position Summary
The VP of Credit will lead the underwriting, structuring, and risk management of the Company’s credit investments and financing transactions, including asset-based wholesale facilities, forward-flow arrangements, and other private equity and private credit transactions. The VP will oversee a team of credit professionals while maintaining direct responsibility for evaluating prospective transactions, executing deals, and managing credit risk across the Company’s portfolio.

The VP will play a key role in shaping the Company’s credit strategy, strengthening risk management processes, and developing the leadership and managerial capabilities required to succeed in a growing private credit platform.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee credit analysis and due diligence for prospective transactions, evaluating borrowers’ financial statements, cash flows, business models, capital structures, and overall creditworthiness, while leveraging a high-performing team of credit professionals.
- Direct the development and review of cash flow and financial models used to assess credit risk, expected returns, and transaction economics, ensuring models are sufficiently flexible to support transaction structuring and optimize risk-adjusted returns.
- Drive the development and negotiation of key transaction terms, including advance rates, eligibility criteria, portfolio concentration limits, collateral performance requirements, and financial covenants, to appropriately manage borrower-and transaction-level risk.
- Prepare and present comprehensive credit memoranda and other transaction materials outlining key findings, risks, mitigants, and recommendations to senior management, investment and credit committees, and investors.
- Develop and oversee stress-testing frameworks, establish downside and break-even scenarios, and communicate results and emerging risks to senior leadership and relevant committees.
- Oversee ad hoc analyses and deliverables for internal and external stakeholders, leveraging comprehensive portfolio knowledge to provide timely, thoughtful, and consistent responses.
- Manage, mentor, and develop a team of analysts and associates, setting clear priorities and timelines, establishing effective communication channels, providing ongoing feedback, and evaluating individual and team performance.
- Monitor market conditions, industry trends, and regulatory and legal developments that may affect the Company’s borrowers, transactions, and overall portfolio.
Required Experience & Skills
- 6+ years of experience in asset-based lending, private credit, leveraged finance, securitized lending, forward financing
- Leadership experience of a small team
- Advanced understanding of financial analysis and credit underwriting, with demonstrated ability to evaluate balance sheets, income statements, cash flows, capital structures, and other key credit metrics.
- Strong financial modeling capabilities, including experience building, reviewing, and maintaining complex models used to assess investment performance, transaction economics, and credit risk.
- Thorough understanding of credit agreements, loan documentation, covenants, and other legal and structural considerations relevant to credit transactions.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to synthesize complex financial and credit considerations and communicate them effectively to senior stakeholders.
- Exceptional attention to detail, project management, and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and effectively coordinate across levels of the organization in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and collaborate effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders, including legal counsel, investors, counterparties, and other advisors.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint; experience with financial databases, portfolio management systems, or other credit-related technology is a plus.
