Job summary

BNY is seeking a Vice President, 1LoD Risk Controls Specialist to join the Payments Enablement team in Lake Mary, FL and Pittsburgh, PA. You will deliver rigorous RCSA execution, risk identification, control mapping, assessment and documentation to strengthen platform controls.

You will coordinate issue management, ORE, new product approvals, and control telemetry, while challenging scope creep and guiding root cause analysis.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required.
• 5–10 years total work experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of operational risk frameworks: RCSA, EBCA, RCAT.
• Experience in issue management, root cause analysis, ORE management.
• Understanding of control design, mapping, and testing.
• Ability to interpret KRI and telemetry data.
• Strong analytical and structured problem-solving capabilities.
• Effective risk communication and credible challenge.
• Ability to collaborate across 1LoD, 2LoD and 3LoD.
• Demonstrated ownership and proactive escalation mindset.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality RCSA execution, including risk identification, control mapping, assessment and documentation.
• Coordinate issue management, ORE management, new product approvals, business process changes and control telemetry.
• Monitor and report status of 1RC program deliverables, identify challenges, and analyze trends.
• Identify and avoid asks beyond 1RC scope; ensure alignment with program objectives.
• Champion root cause remediation and reporting of key incidents affecting the Platform.
