LatinoJustice PRLDEF in New York City seeks an experienced litigator to advance the voting rights docket. The Associate/Senior Counsel for Voting Rights identifies and develops new cases, supports ongoing matters, and manages their own docket.

This full-time role collaborates with legal and advocacy teams and reports to the Deputy General Counsel. The ideal candidate has a proven track record in voting rights and redistricting, asks sharp questions, and can build relationships with communities

Qualifications

• J.D. degree required and admission to practice law.
• Admission to New York State Bar preferred; other bars considered.
• Commitment to voting rights and LJP pillars.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Experience litigating civil rights and redistricting is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Identify and develop voting rights litigation opportunities.
• Lead and support existing matters; manage your own docket.
• Collaborate with legal and advocacy teams; engage with clients and communities.
• Draft pleadings, briefs, and memoranda; participate in discovery and hearings.
• Mentor interns and fellows on voting rights projects.
