Job summary

Colchester City Council invites applications for a Volunteer and Training Coordinator to lead the development and management of volunteering, work placements, interns and training at Ipswich Museums.

Based on a 29.6-hour week, this fixed-term role supports flexible and remote working arrangements and aims to grow the volunteering programme while ensuring inductions and ongoing guidance for volunteers and supervision staff in line with best practice.

Qualifications

• Experience coordinating volunteers.
• Experience delivering training programs.
• Ability to develop volunteering and staff training programmes.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage volunteering, work placements, interns and training opportunities at Ipswich Museums.
• Develop and manage the volunteer and staff training programme, ensuring inductions and ongoing guidance.
• Oversee supervision of volunteers and ensure best practice in volunteering activities.
• Promote and grow the volunteering programme, including new roles such as Family Volunteering and Young Explainers.
