Job summary

LifeWise Academy seeks a dedicated substitute teacher who embodies a mature Christian faith and strong communication skills to engage students with LifeWise curriculum.

You will complete substitute teacher training, teach LifeWise classes as needed, implement lesson plans, maintain a safe, organized classroom, and act as an ambassador within the community while coordinating with teachers and volunteers. Attention to attendance and discipline policies is essential.

Qualifications

• Active Christian faith aligned with LifeWise Academy Statement of Faith.
• Active participation in a local church whose doctrine aligns with LifeWise Academy Statement of Faith.
• Willingness to complete substitute teacher training.

Responsibilities

• Complete substitute teacher training.
• Teach LifeWise classes on an as-needed basis.
• Implement the lesson plans using the LifeWise curriculum provided by the teacher.
• Maintain a safe, organized and stimulating classroom environment following LifeWise policies and procedures.
• Follow the program's student discipline policy.
• Maintain attendance in each class and provide attendance records to the teacher.
• Maintain a clean, attractive and well-ordered classroom; know procedures for emergencies.
• Act as a LifeWise Academy ambassador within the community; communicate lesson plans with volunteers and the teacher.

LifeWise substitute teachers will demonstrate excellence in Biblical knowledge and teaching abilities. The ideal candidate is an active church participant with excellent communication and interpersonal skills who is caring, perceptive and proficient in teaching students.
