Job summary

WakeMed is seeking a Manager of Volunteer Services to oversee all volunteer programs and staffing. The role partners with department leaders to place volunteers in opportunities aligned with WakeMed’s strategic priorities and community initiatives.

Responsibilities include leading volunteer recruitment, training, scheduling, and coordinating hospital fundraising events. The position also manages community outreach, board relations support for two volunteer boards, and supervises the paid

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree Required.
• Master's Degree Preferred.
• 5 Years Volunteer Services Required.
• 5 Years Leadership Preferred.
• 3 Years Healthcare Preferred.
• Certified Healthcare Volunteer Management Preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversees recruiting, interviewing, hiring, training, and scheduling of volunteers.
• Develops and manages department goals aligned with organization priorities.
• Oversees community programs, in-kind donations, and recruitment efforts.
• Coordinates volunteer fundraising events and board relations support.
• Leads the Volunteer Services paid team to maintain excellence in processes.
