Job summary

The Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum seeks an experienced Volunteer Programs Manager to oversee all aspects of its volunteer program within the Education Department. With 110+ active volunteers, you will recruit, train, schedule, recognize, assess, and steward volunteers and Teen Team members.

This full-time exempt role requires strong leadership, organizational and communication skills, background in education or nonprofit settings, and a passion for country music.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in education, arts administration, library and information studies, museum studies, sociology, or related field preferred.
• Minimum 5 years supervisory experience.
• Experience with volunteers in nonprofit/educational settings.
• Experience with training or teaching.
• Familiarity with volunteer databases (Volgistics) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop, lead, and implement volunteer recruitment strategies and information sessions.
• Maintain corps of 125+ volunteers.
• Oversee volunteer training, onboarding, and background checks.
• Schedule volunteers to match skills and departments.
• Communicate museum information to volunteers for success.
• Plan volunteer enrichment activities and recognition events.
• Maintain volunteer database and records for reporting.
• Evaluate program effectiveness and provide coaching and feedback.
• Develop partnerships to promote volunteering.
• Manage the volunteer program budget and serve as point of contact.
