Job summary

The Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum seeks a Volunteer Programs Manager in the Education Department to oversee all aspects of its volunteer program, including recruitment, training, scheduling, and engagement for 125+ volunteers across departments.

We value strong leadership, nonprofit experience, and a passion for country music. Work schedule is Tue–Sat with occasional evenings; competitive benefits and ongoing professional opportunities are provided.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in education, arts administration, library and information studies, museum studies, sociology, or related field preferred
  • Minimum 5 years supervisory experience
  • Previous work with volunteers in a nonprofit or educational setting
  • Previous experience with training or teaching

Responsibilities

  • Develop, lead, and implement volunteer recruitment strategies and facilitate information sessions. Interview potential volunteers over the phone or via Zoom.
  • Maintain corps of 125+ volunteers.
  • Oversee volunteer training, materials, onboarding procedures, and background checks; provide ongoing retraining.
  • Schedule volunteers in positions matched to their skills and department needs.
  • Communicate Museum information to volunteers to keep them informed.
  • Plan enrichment activities and volunteer events, including recognition dinners.
  • Oversee volunteer database and sign-in; maintain records for reporting.
  • Evaluate all aspects of the program; provide oversight, feedback, and conflict management as needed.
  • Maintain partnerships with organizations that promote volunteerism.
  • Build and manage the volunteer program budget.
  • Serve as the point person for volunteer program matters and coach supervisors.
  • Assist with marketing and publicity plans for the program.
  • Oversee Teen Team in partnership with Youth and Family Programs.
  • Develop short- and long-term strategies for the volunteer program.
  • Participate in Education department meetings and planning.
