Job summary

Jewish Relief Agency (JRA) is seeking a Volunteer Programs Coordinator to support and strengthen our volunteer program in the Greater Philadelphia area. The role focuses on creating a welcoming and organized experience for volunteers, from initial contact through ongoing engagement and involvement.

You will coordinate volunteer opportunities, manage communications and recognition, and ensure volunteers feel connected to the impact they are making, including warehouse support and special programs

Qualifications

• 1–2 years in volunteer coordination or nonprofit work.
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Experience recruiting, coordinating, and engaging volunteers.
• Experience with volunteer management software, CRM, email marketing, or database platforms.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Google Workspace.
• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds and have a valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate volunteer recruitment and outreach with the Director of Community Engagement & Volunteer Programs.
• Write, send, and reply to outreach emails to external organizations regarding volunteer programs.
• Manage all volunteer postings to ensure opportunities are listed on partner sites.
• Maintain high-volume communication with volunteers and respond promptly to inquiries.
• Train volunteers to register using VolunteerLocal and assist those needing help.
• Maintain clean volunteer data and merge duplicate profiles.
• Oversee warehouse volunteer tasks and distribution-related activities.
• Coordinate the Route Owner Program and engage community partners.
