Job summary

Thames Valley Council for Community Action (TVCCA) seeks an Assistant Director to oversee Volunteer Services agency-wide, including RSVP supervision. You will guide other TVCCA departments, assist with grants and budgets, and develop recruitment plans to match volunteers with clients.

The role involves training, retention, and data management in a volunteer system, with ROMA familiarity. You will support grant reporting and collaborate across departments to maximize volunteer impact.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in relevant discipline; minimum five years of related work experience, two of which were supervisory.
• Experience conducting training, outreach, and presentations.
• Experience leading and managing personnel in different locations and on multiple projects with differing qualifications and deadlines.
• Must hold a valid driver’s license and have reliable transportation for meetings and events.
• Strong communication and computer skills required.
• Must have strong decision making, organizational, and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Monitors and manages assigned programmatic budgets.
• Manages volunteers; assigns and reviews work.
• Participates in Agency and State trainings and supervises volunteer training activities.
• Assesses volunteers and clients for program eligibility and/or links to appropriate services.
• Ensures comprehensive customer needs are met by working with other departments.
• Maintains documentation and data in the volunteer management system.
• Represents TVCCA in partnerships and networks with community stakeholders.
• Develops partnerships with local, state, and federal agencies.
• Oversees outreach site activities and coordination with social service agencies.
• Assists in preparing statistical information and reports for funding agencies.
• Maintains knowledge of program guidelines and other TVCCA programs.
• Responds to client and volunteer complaints and supports problem resolution.
• Evaluates client and volunteer satisfaction via surveys and implements improvements.
• Collaborates with the Development Department to secure additional funding for volunteer services.
• Occasional evening and weekend work as needed for program activities.
• Upholds confidentiality and professional conduct.
