Job summary

Unity Health System/St. Mary’s Campus in Rochester, NY is seeking a Volunteer Coordinator to organize and support volunteer programs across departments. You will recruit, interview, screen and place volunteers, and work with local schools, churches and community groups to expand the volunteer base.

The role requires an A.A.S. in human services or related field, computer skills, strong organizational and communication abilities, and a capacity to lead and inspire others.

Qualifications

• A.A.S. in human services or related field.
• Computer experience is required.
• Good organizational skills, ability to multi-task, good communication skills both oral and written, ability to lead and inspire others, ability to be innovative and creative.

Responsibilities

• Collaborates with department managers to determine needs for volunteer assistance and assists with developing programs to meet the needs.
• Recruits, interviews, screens and places volunteers.
• Works with local schools, churches and community based programs to increase volunteer base.
• Serves as a resource to insure appropriate day-to-day supervision and activities of volunteers within the departments.
• Coordinates special projects requiring volunteer assistance.
• Maintains and processes volunteer personnel records and tracking sheets in a timely manner.
• Participates in planning and implementing annual Health System volunteer recognition event as well as planning and implementing on site, on-going volunteer recognition.
