Job summary

The International Mission Board is seeking a detail-oriented Volunteer Process Coordinator to support churches and volunteers in short-term mission opportunities worldwide from Richmond, VA. This full-time role guides applicants through assessment and approval, coordinates pre-trip requirements, and assists leaders with navigating the Go Method system.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • At least 2 years of administrative, clerical, and/or customer service experience.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple processes simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
  • Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office 365.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong customer service and relationship-building abilities.
  • Experience working with volunteers, churches, nonprofit organizations, or mission-focused ministries.
  • Experience managing workflows, databases, or online application systems.
  • Membership in a Southern Baptist Convention church is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a primary point of contact for volunteer applicants throughout the application and approval process.
  • Provide timely, friendly, and accurate support to volunteers, church leaders, and ministry partners.
  • Ensure volunteers complete required assessments and pre-trip requirements before departure dates.
  • Build positive relationships by delivering excellent customer service and support.
  • Monitor volunteer applications and workflow progress within the Go Method system.
  • Track completion of pre-approval and post-approval requirements.
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders to ensure applicants move efficiently through the process.
  • Provide basic training and guidance to church leaders, field leaders, staff, and volunteers using the Go Method platform.
  • Assist with maintaining training materials and related documentation.

Job description

The International Mission Board is seeking a detail-oriented and service-focused Volunteer Process Coordinator to support churches and volunteers participating in short-term mission opportunities around the world. Location: Richmond, VA Schedule: Fulltime Compensation: $23.57-27.73 per hour* As a Volunteer Process Coordinator, you will guide volunteer applicants through the assessment and approval process, provide exceptional customer service, coordinate pre-trip requirements, and assist church leaders, staff, and volunteers with navigating the Go Method volunteer management system. This position plays a critical role in helping volunteers take the next step in supporting God's global mission.
