Gender Freedom Society is a 100% volunteer-run, 501(c)(3) nonprofit based virtually in the United States. We are dedicated to educating and supporting the transgender community while striving to normalize transgender existence within broader society. Through educational platforms, outreach efforts, and moderated social media, we cultivate a culture where transgender rights are respected, and gender diversity is celebrated as vital to human identity. Our global team of volunteers works daily to create a better world for the Trans/GNC community.

The Instructional Designer will play a key role in the education team, focusing on creating high-quality, engaging, and effective learning experiences. The role involves collaborating with the curriculum team and subject matter experts to design, develop, and implement instructional content that meets organizational goals and learner needs. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in instructional design, curriculum development, and education, with experience in crafting innovative learning solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Design, develop, and implement instructional content and learning programs, including trainings for volunteers and external organizations.
  2. Collaborate with the curriculum team and subject matter experts to align learning solutions with organizational goals and best practices.
  3. Apply instructional design principles (e.g., ADDIE, AGILE) to create engaging learning experiences across various formats, including asynchronous trainings and live sessions.
  4. Evaluate the effectiveness of learning programs and make data-driven improvements.
  5. Maintain and update existing instructional materials to ensure relevance and alignment with current standards.
  6. Support the integration of technology in the learning process, including LMS and digital tools.
  7. Attend meetings, collaborate on projects, and contribute to educational initiatives across the organization.
Qualifications
  1. Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Education, or a related field (Master's preferred).
  2. Experience in instructional design and curriculum development, with hands-on creation of learning content.
  3. Proficiency with instructional design tools (e.g., Articulate, Adobe Captivate) and LMS platforms.
  4. Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
  5. Strong organizational and project management skills.
  6. Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams and independently.
  7. Knowledge of current trends and best practices in instructional design.
