Job summary

Wheeler Mission Ministries is seeking a part-time Volunteer Engagement Manager in Bloomington, IN to oversee volunteer involvement across the Center for Men - Bloomington. You will recruit, schedule, screen, and integrate volunteers with staff and donors, ensuring effective placement and engagement in ministry programs.

This role operates 24 hours per week, with occasional evenings or weekends. Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills are essential to advance Wheeler

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Communications, People and/or Project Management or equivalent
• Exceptional communication skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook

Responsibilities

• Recruits, selects, and schedules volunteers for Wheeler Mission-Bloomington.
• Manages High Impact volunteer program, including recruitment, selection, equipping, development, and leadership.
• Oversees volunteer-driven Medical, Dental, & Legal Clinics.
• Collaborates with WM staff to ensure communication and placement of volunteers.
• Greets and orients volunteers on their first service date.
• Represents Wheeler Mission to prospective community groups through speaking engagements, volunteer fairs, tours, and interviews.
• Works on transitioning episodic volunteers into regular volunteers and financial donors.
• Assists the Director with special projects and administrative responsibilities that strengthen strategic priorities at Wheeler Mission—Bloomington.
