Job summary

United Way of Central Indiana is seeking a Manager of Volunteer Engagement to build relationships with corporate partners, community organizations, and volunteers in Central Indiana. The role includes creating immersive learning experiences that foster empathy and action, and collaborating with fundraising teams to grow engagement across programs.

Qualified candidates typically have 2–4 years in project or volunteer management, a Bachelor’s degree preferred, and experience with HandsOn Connect

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• 2–4 years of experience in project management, volunteer management, business, or a related field required; volunteer management experience preferred.
• Experience with HandsOn Connect, Salesforce, or similar volunteer management and CRM systems preferred.
• Knowledge of the Central Indiana community and the human services sector preferred.
• Valid driver’s license required; ability to drive a van and load and unload materials.
• Ability to lift a minimum of 25 pounds and to push, pull, and assemble materials.

Responsibilities

• Develop, manage, and execute strategies to engage employees of partner companies in a variety of volunteer and employee engagement activities.
• Act as the primary Volunteer Engagement activity owner for all internal team engagement requests and coordinate with partner organizations.
• As needed, manage logistics for projects related to corporate volunteer and engagement experiences, including communications and participant registration.
• Coordinate immersive learning experiences that simulate difficult decisions for those near poverty to educate and inspire action.
• Promote and execute ongoing volunteer, advocacy and engagement opportunities that contribute to United Way’s mission.
