Job summary

Habitat for Humanity International in Washington, DC is seeking a Volunteer Services Coordinator for a one-year AmeriCorps service position. This full-time role offers hands-on experience and the opportunity to contribute to sustainable community solutions while serving others.

You will recruit, train, schedule and recognize volunteers, grow the volunteer base, and advance partnerships. Start dates are flexible, with a living allowance and Segal Education Award provided upon completion.

Qualifications

• Applicants must be a U.S. citizen, national or lawful permanent resident at least 18 or older and have a high school diploma or GED.
• Demonstrates passion for serving the community through direct service.
• Ability to work on a team with strong interpersonal communication skills.
• Willingness to serve full time and in person.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, train, schedule and recognize volunteers while growing the base and partnerships.
• Market within the community to recruit new volunteers and develop events.
• Assist with volunteer orientations, database maintenance, tracking and follow-up.
• Coordinate with construction staff to ensure successful volunteer build days and safety briefings.
• Order necessary volunteer supplies and manage recruitment tools.
