More Than Words, a Boston-based nonprofit, seeks a Volunteer Coordinator to manage group volunteer events, engage individual volunteers, and support the Advancement Department with donations and donor recognition. The Volunteer Coordinator is a focused, passionate, and detail-oriented team member who will support the Advancement Department in managing and engaging volunteers to support our mission in many ways. the MTW volunteer program and communicating about the More Than Words mission with supporters. The Volunteer Coordinator reports to the Associate Director of Development and communicates closely with cross-site More Than Words Operations Teams. The Volunteer Coordinator runs 1-3 group volunteer events weekly, manages a schedule of group volunteer events for future weeks, and provides administrative support for the program including managing an active volunteer email inbox. The Coordinator will also support the Associate Director in managing and supporting individual volunteers, including supporting scheduling and outreach. This position will be based out of the Boston site, with occasional off-site events expected with advance notice and planning (transportation support possible for offsite).
Maximum of 29 hours per week; Mondays and Thursdays are a definite; other days and times to be discussed with your supervisor. Occasional evening or weekend hours may be scheduled in advance on mutual agreement for events or presentations. This is a 6-month position, with the potential to renew after evaluating at the end of the 6-month period.
$24.00 per hour
