Schedule: Part-time

Shift: Days; 20 hours per week, Monday - Thursday, 1:00 PM - 6:00 PM. Occasional flex to 2:00 PM - 7:00 PM.

The role you’ll contribute:

The Volunteer Coordinator plans with the manager of volunteer services the objectives and scope of the adult program. Directly supervises volunteers in designated areas. Resolves conflicts and problems as they arise. Acts as a liaison between volunteers, staff, visitors, and patients. Is accountable for a thorough knowledge of volunteer policies and hospital procedures related to volunteers. Develops the Volunteer Services Annual Report and serves as the editor of VOLUNTEER VOICE.

The value you’ll bring to the team:

• Plans with the manager the objectives and scope of the adult volunteer program.
• Interviews prospective applicants, checks references, and evaluates their capabilities and personalities before placement.
• Orients and trains new volunteers, developing a good rapport, recognizing their personalities, capabilities, and limitations. Maintains strong relationships with approximately 500+ volunteers.
• Supervises volunteers assisting with scheduling, data entry, leading community group tours, holiday caroling, and other departmental assignments, including roles in the surgery waiting room and as greeters/receptionists.
